Overnight Steel Cut Oats

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cool time: 6 hours (or overnight)

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups water (or sub in almond/soy milk)
  • 1 cup steel cut oats

Directions:

  1. Measure out 1 cup of steel cut oats into a medium/large bowl
  2. Boil 2 1/2 cups of water
  3. Once water starts to boil, pour into bowl.
  4. Let mixture sit out to cool for 30 minutes.
  5. Put the lid on the bowl and place in fridge for 6 hours (or overnight)

Here are so awesome flavoring options:

  • 1/4 cup of any fresh/dried fruit with a tbsp of honey
  • 10 marshmallows, 10 chocolate chips
  • Scoop of protein powder
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1/2 banana and 1 tbsp PB2
  • 2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 cup apple sauce (or diced apples)
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice and 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsweetended shredded coconut, 1/4 cup pineapple chunks, 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds with 1 tbsp chocolate chips
